What do you like about working at Car-Lene Research?

"Carlene Research was a great place to begin a career in market research. When I began, I didn't know much about research and how it related to new advertising campaigns and marketing initiatives. However, as I grew within the position I became very familiar with quantitative and qualitative research. I enjoyed managing multiple projects ranging anywhere from five to 10+ projects a week. Because of the wide scope of clients we worked with and the different goals and objectives for each client, every day was different and never boring. I truly enjoyed getting a preview of new products coming to the market."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The clients will give you guidelines so you can get exactly what they're looking for. Follow directions, probe respondents as best as possible and listen closely to what is being said. The more information you're able to gather from a respondent, the more successful your efforts will be in satisfying the client and meeting their expectations."

What don't you like about working at Car-Lene Research?

"We were only one of the offices out of over 60 offices nationwide. Our small office of approximately ten employees didn't always give us a lot of room for growth. Although it was a great place to learn and begin a career in market research, it was difficult to progress unless you worked directly for the corporate office."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Not to hire so many young employees. The interviewers were usually all high-schoolers and their work-ethic, dependability and desire to succeed was not usually as polished as someone with more experience."
