"It is absolutely wonderful to work at COS for a job, and it is easy to get comfortable, but career minded individuals should steer clear."

What don't you like about working at California Office Systems?

"The growth was limited due to the size of the company and the fact that the owner makes all business decisions personally. I would occasionally give growth ideas which were never truly considered."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Micromanagement is the only style used by the 2 owners. The company could grow exponentially if other employees were allowed to make decisions. Every time a Sales or Service Manager was hired, they were let go again soon, as the owner would force them to acquiesce to his decisions, and not let them truly lead. Trust needs to be built in order to sustain a strong company, and they could start small and work up to hiring Managers again."
