"be more concerned with deliverables and not kowtowing - this works in the long run"

"The team environment was great. Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly"

"I think that overall it is a great company to work for, if it is in the field you want to stay within"
What don't you like about working at Staples?
"Management in the sales department. Most of them did not take time to understand the stress and work that the sales staff had to do. My manager came from the sales environment, but did not want to really help employees and did not want to do work to find answers to the questions asked."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Learn to understand the staff that they manage. I woud suggest spending at least a week in the staffs shoes, so they have an understanding of how the job operates"

"Having the latest gadgets and the traveling."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"No, if you know someone who has juice in BBY you are as good as in if they have an opening. At the store level there are very few FT positions."
What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"That in order to get ahead you had to know someone; the district people had no clues as to what they were doing, for instance most of the district people came from the store level and never once had any experience with business systems and enterprise solutions, etc."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Yes; the RIGHT person for the job, not just to return a favor to a friend in corporate! And hold the same standard to EVERYONE not just a select few."
