"I have worked as an intern for 1 year with the company. It was a worthwhile experience, and the other engineers and software developers were a blast to work with. It was a fast paced environment that encouraged the engineers to think of creative solutions to quickly reconcile problems."

"There is a bulge of middle management that do not allow entry level employees grow and progress. They do not offer any help with mentoring or guidance to grow. Any initiative is seen as an attack on their job/position. Their annual compensation increases are non existent unless you kiss up to management. There are no relationships with any of your co-workers and have no control in changing any of their processes or procedures. Overall, I would NEVER work for this company again.`"

"I have worked for Broadcom for 6 years. It is a strong semiconductor company especially in communication. However, recently, it suffered a setback. It cannot deliver 4G-LTE sooner. They will lag behind Qualcomm for a long time."

"I've worked Broadcom since Jan 2007. This company provides a good place to develop and fulfill my talent. However company run not well in mobile area. It re-grouped, then my position was gone. Wish the company gets betters."

"Worked as a Senior Principal Scientist in Broadcom to write embedded C test program for SIM, CSI, DSI and NVSRAM of the Athena Mobile phone ASIC chip using RealView ICE, Palladium and RVDS v4.1 compiler under Cygwin, I found that Broadcom is very good company with good benefits."

"Stock price of $18 per share this time next year and looking for a new CEO."

What do you like about working at Broadcom?

"Good communication with scientists and engineers. Many very dedicated and hardworking."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you come from a strong SW background - make sure you understand. What they have now is like building a new house on a lot with an existing tear down. You're going to be getting dirty before doing any real building."

What don't you like about working at Broadcom?

"This company grew up designing great HW products. The new standards for wireless end up requiring more SW - a lot more. The senior management - many with great engineering backgrounds - simply do not have the training or experience to develop larger scale embedded systems. When Intel shows up with the Armada of competitive products built into their SOCs - it will all be over but the shouting."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire strong SW people and get out of the way."
