Admissions Counselor

What do you like about working at Bridgepoint Education?

"Close to home and some of the people I worked with were nice, when we were allowed to talk. The health insurance was really good. Maybe if I'd been in a different department...."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go check out other reviews...there's a ton of them out there. Oh yeah, Admissions Counselor - don't let the title fool you. It's a telemarketer whose job is to call people who never requested the call and convince them to spend up to $60,000 for a degree, whether they are 17 or 70. If you don't, you won't have a job for long."

What don't you like about working at Bridgepoint Education?

"Micromanagement to the nth degree. Everything is monitored and recorded. Everything. Also, the fact they ask you to call people on the DNC list, repeatedly. Isn't that against the law Duh."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Appreciate your employees and stop misleading and spinning the facts. Obey the laws. Learn that by giving employees more authority or ability to make decisions, they will typically produce better results. The micromanagement might be good for teenagers, but that's about it."
