"It is a very physical job."

"Stop changing the layout of the store every few months."

"The employees are extremely talented and being able to manage such diversity was, by far, the greatest gift. It Added to my professional resume food service (seattles best cafe), gifts & stationary, highly talented leadership and well educated employees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you absolutely know the lease expiration date. Chances are they will close the store. Also, make sure there are other stores you can transfer to if they close yours."

What don't you like about working at Borders?

"The lack of support from the District Manager and Zone Manager levels. They were undeniably the most incompetent group of managers in my 18 year professional experience."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Really listen to the field and what they truly need to succeed. Give credit to those who truly give their heart and soul to the team and business. Be willing to compromise."
