What don't you like about working at BNSF Railway?
"Dealing with the deeply entrenched Nepotism and Good old boy's club, the hypocrisy and double standard in it's safely program(s), it's constant reduction in benefits while gloating in our faces the massive profits it's made. It's lack of any form of sick leave without resorting to FMLA to prevent from being fired for absenteeism. It's use of Safety as just a Metric, making us all feel like a number."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Work out the sick leave and force your local supervisors to accept doctor's notes, not just when he feels like it. Fix your absenteeism policy and make it more transparent vs. the hidden number. The safety of BNSF has always outwardly been really high and I believe the middle management actually believe in it, the lower management just seem to view it as an obstacle to production and ignored until they want to fire someone, this need to be addressed."
