"People are generally nice and salary is competitive, but I believe there may be systemic issues with management. Managers, at least in my department, are not hands-on and thus sometimes know little about the issues that are actually going on with the team. Because of this they sometimes don't give great instructions or advice. I've also seen issues brought up which are never addressed or resolved - a lot of talking in circles."

"Show how well you understand what you've done previously. Regardless of the field, the ability to know and explain the field you've been employed in shows a cognizance that many people lack which is translatable to most any new field, just as the logic of trouble-shooting can be applied across many fields regardless of the individual details."

"Lack of growth opportunities. When a position opens, a candidate has been chosen prior to the interview process which blocks ambitious individuals from feeling there is a possibility of advancement."

"Seek to make better use of internal talent. Management training and exposure to new responsibilities would keep engineers focused on the future rather than feeling stagnant."
