"The Bering Strait School District is located in a remote and isolated community of approximately 750 people. It supports 15 schools across 80,000 square miles. All of the goods that do not come from hunting or gathering must be flown or barged in. Due to the living conditions, turn-over is high and often attracts entry level employees seeking to gain experience. To be truly successful in this organization you would need to be willing to make a long-term commitment and embody the rugged outdoor lifestyle."

"It's not for the faint of heart - don't let the high salary fool you!"
What don't you like about working at Bering Strait School District?
"Things change on a last minutes notice; i.e. I was told that I would have to teach a two week course, with 4 hours of instruction each day, the week before it was scheduled to start. I was told to teach Arctic Survival, as a teacher from New York. I was not appreciated, my ideas were not respected, and I was stretched to my very professional limits."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would not micromanage every little unimportant thing that has to happen, while also ignoring the requests of staff members with legitimate concerns."
