"I loved working with clients trying to get sober, leading groups, providing individual counseling, sharing my experience, strength and hope."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Keep an open mind and really love what you do. Counseling is a job to be taken after much careful thought and education."

What don't you like about working at Beacon House?

"It was very difficult and dangerous working with people going through the DTs. It was a judgment call whether they needed a higher level of care and it could be scary at times, as people can become violent or very sick or both."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Let counselors do their jobs. And, for the most part, management did. There were and are some very talented people there. Provide a stronger aftercare program to prevent relapse."
