"Dont be afraid to talk about your accomplishments. They doa great job of hiring outside of the banking industry so if you do not have banking experience dont view that as a negative."

"Be creative and make sure you get trained as soon as you are hired on. It took three months to get me into training which put me at a big disadvantage"

"I loved the capability to build a consistent business relationship with our customers. I loved being a advocate for our customers and helping to make their dreams come true whether it was helping them to purchase their first home or save for their new baby."

"My work, family and life lacked due to working 60 hours a week."

"My suggestions for management would be to utilize all of your resources and not to spend all of your time at work. A balance is truly just as important for yourself as well as for your team."

"The 90 Day Banking Center Manager College Program was excellent! I had no prior banking experience, but completed the course successfully, and was prepared to manage my own branch."

"Be yourself. They look for Spirit in every associate, and letting your true personality shine will win them over."
What don't you like about working at Bank of America?
"As the economy got worse the focus was more on Sales, and less on Service."

"Building and maintaining strong relationships with the customers will yield better sales results than the hard sales approach."

"There is no job security at Wescom Credit Union."

"Predict the future a little better and do not expand your business during tough economic times such as, economic downturns. Try to preserve your employees' jobs a little better instead of laying off half of your work force in a very short time period."

"Make sure you like banking and finance rules and regulations, there are plenty."

"Because of the size, customer service is only great at the branch, 800 numbers are not functional anymore, especially for senior citizens."

"Do not micro manage, is not productive."

"Tons of tenured people that didn't do well with change. Compensation was inconsistent with talent. Slow."

"My staff is extraordinary and there are limitless opportunities if you are well connected within the organization."

"Exceed expectations and you will be ok. The company does not accept mediocre behavior. Strive for exception results."

"It is a large place, and associates are typically over-worked. Therefore, to make improvements is a challenge in this type of environment, which can hinder the progress. Communication between departments is poor."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My suggestion is for management to become more involved with their direct reports and make time for more personal observation before assessments are made and action plans drawn."
What do you like about working at Bank of America?
"I enjoy dealing with the clientele and assisting them to increase their wealth. I also started from the bottom (teller associate) and had the opportunity of being a Large Banking Center Manager (AVP)."

"Be genuine and/or be yourself."

"I left them to establish my own business. I actually enjoy working at Bank of America."
