"This place has gone down the toilet over the last 5 years!!"

What do you like about working at Baker Tilly?

"I like the people. When everyone feels they are getting screwed together - it is a bonding experience."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I think it's a great place to do an internship, becuase you'll make your $20 an hour and hit overtime by Wednesday. However, if you plan on having a family life at all. Trust me when I say you'd be better off at ANY other accounting firms, including big 4 firms."

What don't you like about working at Baker Tilly?

"Unfortunately I could go on forever. I can't explain the number of 90 hour plus weeks I have had. They will work your fingers to the bone. I ended up leaving (still staying in public) and was able to get a a 15% raise and MUCH better hours. They are all about the mighty $, they don't give two S*^$ about you."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your people right and the hard work will follow. I don't think there is much to say, they know they are paying for their mistakes. They must have one of the highest turnover percentages out there right now. Yet there are some partners that are still in denial. Admit you made mistakes, then move on."

"There was a pretty good mixture of professionals with varied backgrounds and experiences."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would suggest that they research the company to determine where their skills align with the company. A potential employee should be confident and honest during the interview and be prepared to ask questions."

What don't you like about working at Baker Tilly?

"There were several large layoffs which really hurt employee morale. One was prior to the economic downturn."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If management was truly concerned with retention and development then they should have more sincere open dialogue with non-management professionals."
