"Enjoyed working here for many years. Unfortunately, those days are over."

What do you like about working at Axcera?

"Axcera (then ITS Corporation) was a great place to work, strong leadership, great co-workers, great products and a solid outstanding reputation in the Broadcast Industry since 1982."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The way things are going, I don't believe it would be a wise career choice to apply to this company. There are no open jobs here."

What don't you like about working at Axcera?

"Unique Broadband Systems, Ltd. of Canada bought Axcera, acquired all of the valuable assets and then filed Axcera into bankruptcy. They temporarily laid off long-time staff in order to avoid paying out severances and vacation pay. The rest of the staff were either shown the door or to take up to a 40% pay cut. There is no longer an Engineering Department and with only a minimal factory crew, which only supports transmitter repair service. There are no new products. XM Radio came in to take a tour of the facility with the possibility of purchasing new transmitters, however not many employees were left. Management brought in family and friends to sit at various stations to make the building appear to look full. XM Radio wanted US MADE transmitters. The fact is, all products would be engineered in Canada and possibly built in the US or shipped from the US. Axcera lost a lot of good people through no fault of their own. Many jumped ship before that, seeing no sense of leadership and business direction. Over the last few years, benefits have been greatly reduced, some lost all benefits altogether, and work hours have been cut from 5 days/week to just 1 or 2 days/week."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Unique Broadband Systems. Ltd. of Canada should sell Axcera to company that understands the Broadcast business and can restore the Axcera good name. The three original owners had a vision. It is a shame to see what has happened to their vision in the wrong hands."
