"Art Van has not had solid leadership in the last 3 years under capital venture owners. The company has done well when privately owned, but in a changing retail market, Art Van has been slow to evolve."
"I like the company where i work. Looking for new job for career growth ."
"Positive reviews are probably planted by the company. The company is not what it once was. Leadership takes a commission of sales associates by paying a low 2% commission. Lying to employees about the profitability of these items. They buy from manufacturers in huge quantities at huge discounts and lie about the profit margins, paying sales assoc low commission. There is a lot of discrimination. They pick and choose who they pay hi commission to. There will soon be a lawsuit against the company for this. Managers are abusive. Most experienced sales staff are treated poorly. I will not stick around for this behavior."
"I have been with the company over 15 years.Unfortunately they do not care about the sales associates. The company is currently not doing well in their company stores. So they drop commission to 2 percent on outlet items and many other items. They take from the sales associates when management can't make a profit through sales because of loss of traffic. The turnover for sales associates is very large, due to lies of income when they hire someone and lack of coaching. Management is a good ole boys club."
"I have worked here for more than 8 years. they offer good benefits, but management is petty and fail to recognize the need for change. They focus on micromanaging employees over encouraging success. They also tend to hire from outside more than promoting from within. Growth is very limited here."
