AMIkids Employee

"This is the worst place a teacher could possibly work. AMIkids has no respect for teachers or education. They will tell you almost anything to get you to come work for them (because they are required by contract to have licensed teachers) and then forget those commitments as soon as you start working for them. Pay cuts are not unusual without warning. Even if you have an offer letter they will still cut your pay. They will tell you if you don't like it you can quit or they pressure you to sign a new "offer" by threatening your job. Their favorite thing to say is that if you don't do one thing or another then you will be terminated immediately. You can expect to be bullied regularly. Add to that, that you will not have the minimum things you need to do your job. You will constantly be pulled off your job in order to cover another job that they never seem to get around to filling or is vacant because they ran off the last person who signed on hoping to make a difference. The Executive Director not only has no respect for teachers, most likely they will resent paying you a substandard wage because it will be more money than the pay most everyone else. The health insurance they offer is substandard as well and cost three times what you would pay for state insurance if you were with the local school district. Co-pays are high and basic services have a steep copay. Overall, this is a horrible place to work. They don't seem to care about the turnover. There is a reason they are always hiring."
