Working at American University of Technology in Lebanon, TN: 1 Employee Reviews

Chair of Nutrition

"I got an Assistant Professor – Nutrition and Dietetics Coordinator - position at the American University of Technology, Byblos - Lebanon. Developing the professional and practical side of the program took an important part in my duties in teaching and research. One of the main missions I had is to construct a new laboratory facility adapted to the program. This facility needed to be equipped with the necessary materials for the nutrition and the food analysis techniques, which we were the pioneer to get the most recent machines that suits the market, the priority of the students and facilitate future research activity. This facility was held by several research assistants that I hired, to maintain the productivity and the continuity of the unity. This modest facility is on its way, for the moment, to be a certified synthesis and analysis laboratory at a national scale. Despite the difficulty to apply research programs at the first period, we were the precursors to implement a multidisciplinary program involving Health, Water and Environmental issues in Lebanon, by developing new and green strategies to offer authentic and original solutions. On September 2014, I was promoted to associate professor after the evaluation of the Dean and the Vice president of academic affairs. Moreover, during this period I had a great opportunity to be a senior lecturer at several local universities. I found that my professional experience as lecturer provided me with a broad view that is useful in assisting students with projects and assignments."
