"I have worked for American Licorice for about two years now and have seen myself grow within the company quickly advancing. The company strives to help and give back to not only their local community but other organizations as well."
"I worked for American Licorice for nearly 3 years before finding a new job. The company is very small and is ran by three families. Annual raises are small and the same percent increase is given across the board unless you get a promotion which generally means you get a new title but you're still doing the same job. It's a descent company of you live in the area but it's not worth moving or relocating. Not only is the company family-owned but many family members work for the company. The company can talk a good story but the can be really ruthless. During my time, the office experienced more than 10% turnover with people being fired or quitting. Marketing specifically has extremely high turnover because of poor leadership. Best areas to be in are Supply Chain or Accounting. These two areas have very good leaders. Overall, it's not a horrible place for short-term (1-2 years) employment if you already live in the immediate area."
"I loved this company and would still be here if I was not for the person who was my direct report."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"John Hyla is the IT director. He is a calm no nonsense guy and he is looking for people to make the systems work together in a smooth and orderly fashion. No drama and he will be the best boss you can have."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management removed the direct report which was a problem so this company is a great firm to work for."
