"A very detailed and austere review."

What do you like about working at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center?

"If there was a day that you did not feel too well, you could easily pretend that you were meticulously engaged in some kind of work project. Everyone pretended to work, some out of pure laziness and others because they had no clue what they were doing. Oh and the health insurance benefits were the best."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure your knowledgeable about all that ABSMC does for the community and make sure you compliment their efforts. Also, make sure you can go back to your current employment or have some other avenues you can explore."

What don't you like about working at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center?

"Administration's blatant and complete disregard for patients care at all levels, in reference to industry compliance, regulations, standards and practices by all staff especially medical providers. Administration walked around whimsically, feebly entrusting management to oversee all faucets of operations. Often turning a blinds eye to medical practices, some in particular a complete barratry, whose clinical conventions were at best atrocious. Scrutiny at any level, is only exercised when a patient's health and or care has already been compromised. This is usually followed by an assortment of fabricated addendum's, progress notes, treatment plans, contrived H&Ps, nurse's notes etc... I especially did not appreciate when administration and risk management emphatically requested for my reevaluation of the details of an incident at hand and my reassessment of the occurrences."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They really need to seek out those employees, who have and put into working practice the skill set and knowledge, and place them into roles that can effectively make a change in the medical center. Begin to discipline those even providers who do not comply with medical center guidelines and regulations."
