Business Development Manager
in San Diego, CA

"Almac Science SUCKS...."

What do you like about working at Almac Group?

"Nothing, I had 3 managers in 18 months and because the company culture in Ireland did not understand the American customer marketplace. It took 4-6 weeks for a quote for simple 4-6 step API synthesis or a radiolabeled quote (we had no business going on). Worst decision that I have made in my career to work at Almac."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be sure they disclose everything upfront...computer database information, manf costs that is it GBP to USD and why they are a Hire and Fire company..."

What don't you like about working at Almac Group?

"The company is 8 hours ahead of your business day and there really was no internal support for a remote DB person on the West Coast of the United States. No exit interview and no probationary period and do not disclose my final sales numbers which I believe I was going to hit my bonus...The companies computer system VPN connection to the internal database in Europe does not work 8 hours a day because when your 8 hours behind it begins updating the system which in-turn delays in the exchange of information back in forth...frustrating"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I made suggestions how to work the US market which ultimately I believe that I was fired. I have over 12 years experience in the industry and know the territory. Be upfront with anyone who you hire about specifically the manf costs that are in GBP instead of USD costs. Also don't fire someone in an Airport in the middle of a business trip with no prior warning or probationary period discussed before hand. I did not have an exit interview. No business ethics."
