Alliance Financial Group Employee

"Buy Out May Be A Good Thing!"

What do you like about working at Alliance Financial Group?

"You were not monitored as if you were a child. You were treated and trusted as an adult by direct management. The people I directly worked in the office with were very welcoming and friendly. I truly liked them. It seemed like the perfect job at first."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Since they were bought out, which I believe is a good thing, the new company may be better to work for. They seem to be very particular about who they hire, and do not just jump at a resume unless they feel you may be a good fit. Good luck getting past the initial recruiting team. I would suggest trying to find out who the hiring manager is, and talk to them first. If you can capture their attention long enough to generate interest, you may have a chance at acquiring an interview. I have never worked for the new owner, therefore could not provide you with much insight outside of this."

What don't you like about working at Alliance Financial Group?

"The department I was in was so afraid of correcting other departments that had inaccurate information. They would discuss it as if they planned to do something about it, but when faced with the opportunity always backed down. They seemed to be better at talking behind someones back than really wanting to resolve issues and do the job accurately. I don't like talking behind someones back if I am not brave enough to say things to their face."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Instead of being afraid to tell other managers they are wrong especially when you have the expertise, be more willing to discuss issues and resolve differences with other departments, and come to an amicable decision on how to best get the job done. Allowing department managers to bully each other is no way to deal with disagreements, or decision making just because one department may be more favored. Everyone should be treated equally, and varying intellects respected not shunned. Stand up for yourself, your staff and what you know is right as opposed to allowing fear to fuel yours and your staffs careers. The truth always has a way of coming out, no matter how much you try to silence it or the people that know it. Most importantly stop trying to instill fear in your staff, it will only back fire on you one day."
