"The company is getting too big for the current management structure. It seems like the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. This review is given from the perspective of the Dallas division. There are managers in positions that have no business being there. There are many meetings that you come out of with no plan in place, when the whole subject of the meeting is to formulate a plan for the current quarter. A lot of management... with no leadership."

"It is a good company, they are doing very well these days, but too much office politics in our department."

"Allergan is a fairly good employer. It pays well, but career growth is very subjective. Not much scope to work on leading edge technologies due to bureaucracy. Projects are very poorly managed in most cases, dragging on for months and years at times. Senior management is a bit complacent when big projects gobble up huge chunk of budget, leaving little for investing in new technologies/projects."

"Politic and Discrimination are the names of the game!"

What do you like about working at Allergan?

"Benefit package is very attractive! Some departments are very good department to work there!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It depends on which department you are applying for your position, each department is very different! Allergan always under staff, so expect to work over 50 hours a week! Depends on which department, you may have to work 16 hours a day!!! Allergan is a slave driver company!"

What don't you like about working at Allergan?

"I worked at Allergan for 12 years! Allergan was a much better company 8 years ago! Now, too much politic involved makes the company no longer an attractive company to work there. It also depends on which department you are working for and who was your direct supervisor/manager/director. I had reported to more than 7 different bosses in the last 12 years and they were pretty professional. Except the last 2 bosses were very mean, unprofessional and extremely discriminate against non-male white! We reported the incidents to HR and they ignored our concerns! The benefits package is good! But they recently shifted toward Cosmetic. It is a bad move since during recession, not many people have money to spend on plastic surgery, Botox, etc Therefore, they cut a lot of budget, let all of the consultants go; laid off almost 500 employees in one day; cut travel budgets. Many employees who are still working there work about 12 16 hours a day because there are not enough people to manage the projects! Before the laid off, it was pretty bad, but now it is even worse! The last 3 years working at Allergan was a torture! I would never want to go back there, especially if I have to work for the last two bosses (directors) there! Its shame that Allergan claim its self as an equal employment opportunity! What a joke! Discrimination is the name of the game there! I am glad I am not there any more!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop politic and discrimination games there!"
