"Pros: A lot of really great people work there - most of them are miserable with the way the company is currently being run but are too scared or too "content" (note - I did not say "happy" - I said "content", meaning they don't want the hassle of interviewing again) with their job to speak up. Cons: The products and services have been built willy-nilly with more concern placed over obtaining customers than retaining them through having a well-built product with few bugs. Q/A is a joke. Documentation is rare. Communication is absent. Management is often hired from outside the company and there is very little to no room for advancement - and the few who do manage to receive promotions have lied, cheated, clawed and stolen their way to their promotions and will continue to do so to stay there - so if you are an over-achiever and not "in with the clique", you will be replaced quickly. Salaries are below market level for lower level employees and well above market level for middle-management and above. There is NO work-life balance for the entry levels, seniors and team leads. Employees feel that if they speak out about anything they are unhappy about, they will be ignored at best and punished at worst. Advice to Management: Real reviews. Reviews should not only be of employees, but also BY employees about management. Real training and opportunities for job advancement. Salaries and schedules which are on par with industry standards. And treat your support people - ALL of them - as people. People who have lives, families, children. Schedules that change every week are bad - for the employees and for the customers. Stop treating your highly technical support staff as if they are in a Comcast call center reading from a script, "did you jiggle the cable? Did you turn it off for at least 10 minutes?" I could go on forever but there is no point - Alert Logic will keep losing the best and brightest because they do not listen."

"Alert Logic is a nice company to work at, working on advanced and interesting security technology. The people are great to work with. My only complaints are... 1: The organizational structure leaves a lot to be desired. There is not enough structure to ensure that everything gets done within time and without major gaps/misses. 2: The compensation is below average for this type of work. 3: The company sets up too many barriers to procuring the necessary equipment and resources to do my job."

"The company is great for someone beginning in the network security field. There are plenty of opportunities for learning, advancement, and self improvement. Too many re-organizations of the company every few months since the same people remain employed. Mediocrity is norm, not the exception."
