"This was an incredibly great job. A lot of the rewards are not remunerative. However, things became too corporate eventually and when that happens, I start to expect a corporate compensation package, which SFAF could not provide. At the beginning, the environment was flexible and that was part of the compensation; when the corporate mentality came along, that was lost and I felt undercompensated. To their credit, they avoided layoffs by everyone taking a cut, which they later restored."

"Management is losing flexibility and there is an excessive egalitarianism that fails to recognize and reward achievement."

"1. Be as concerned with the morale of the achievers as much as for the non-achievers; 2. All else being equal, consider personal circumstances in deciding HR issues; 3. Provide non-financial giveback when economic conditions necessitate pay/benefit cuts and increases in workload."
