"Veterinary is one of the biggest and rapidly developing industry's in the US. It was $4 billion in 2008 and growing. Consumers spent $10 million on pet services the same year. Seems like good content to work on."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The hurried hiring process may make you feel wanted and lucky; but remember to stop and get your turn to interview them. Do your homework and find other managers who have worked there. Do this by looking up the publisher's box titles in the journal magazines."

What don't you like about working at Advanstar Communications?

"The management of this division of Advanstar Communications (the parent company) have all been there working together for over 20+ years. There is no room socially, professionally, personally for outsiders on their team. They've been doing things the same way for this long and will not change and will not let you in."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They don't take outside input."
