"The VP of sales, who is no longer there. Their business plan for 2008 was bad and was based on investor wants and not what the market wanted or could afford."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Talk to the sales reps. Find out what prospects are saying; not customers as they already own the product. If you interact with potentical customers and find out what they want and what they can afford, then structure your products to meet those needs, success will be achieved. The company really can use some strong leaders, not managers."
