2a USA Anonymous Employee
in Auburn, AL

"2a, USA is an established Italian company that specializes in aluminum die casted parts for the Automotive industry. We make parts for Diamler, Chrysler, Detroit Diesel, Mercedes Benz, and other notable companies within the automotive industry. 2a gmbh purchased a bankrupt German company named Schmid, and bought their American plant as a foot in the door for their USA clients and for expansion with American-based clientele. 2a, USA (the American division of 2a gmbh) is run by the current plant manager Massimo Rovere, William Wall as the production manager, and Eddie Windsor as the quality manager. The plant manager micro-manages every leadership role in the plant, with no exaggeration in play. Raises are not to be expected. Benefits constantly change throughout the fiscal year (overtime, lunch breaks, PTO, positions and hours will change at anytime without prior notice and without any change in benefits if moving up. The opposite is to be said about moving down). Anyone that respects their trade and their career should not sacrifice their momentum by moving here. 2a, USA specialize in selling dreams and opportunities to skilled and professional employees to capitalize on their work without praise or rewards. Quality is a huge grey area. Quality is second to profiteering, and is well hidden from clients. The average CPK is .7 to 1.5, with only a select few parts averaging higher, but still well below 3.0. The company almost entirely utilizes various temp sources for their machine operators, and often times will continue to stretch hire-on dates to avoid paying benefits and raises. Most leave before that point, those that stay usually have to wait 4 to 6 months to get hired on and receive benefits with a $.50 raise as standard policy, with no raise until 1 year after the hiring point. This past year (2016), 60% (roughly) got a raise of $.30 with the rest getting nothing. 2a, USA's die casting department had a 325% employee turnover in 2016."
