"Reopen I would have retired from this facility. Greatly enjoyed this job."

The work was very satisfying to me, because I really enjoy working with shipboard designs, and being able to physically walk aboard the vessels and see my work being implemented in real time. I picked up invaluable experience in delivering engineering excellence through CAD drawing and problem solving. My Navy experience was incredibly helpful and appreciated."

What do you like about working at Textron?

"Textron Defense Systems is bigger player in the defense industry. Being a bigger player, Textron Defense has the means to bid on the big contracts and the interesting DARPA contracts as well. Most projects are multidisciplinary feats, so there is no lack of learning nor is there a lack of interest."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Independent of the position, most managers have been management for a while and can identify the workers from the weaklings. Exhibit as much confidence as you can, a dash of arrogance is key."

What don't you like about working at Textron?

"The current state of the company has many employees wondering daily who will get the cut next. There's not much you can do about that right now."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Both managers I have worked for have been fantastic. I have never felt inadequate on a project and I have never felt that my contributions, however small or large, were inconsequential."

"In IT, you get a bit of everything. You need to react and you need to plan ahead."

"Management seems to like a more social person. Well adjusted seems to be the way to go"

"The stability at the time was nerve racking for everybody."

"There isn't much you can do to change the state of the company."

"I work in a department of knowledgable and experienced quality engineers. The manager is very supportive while allowing independant initiative."

What don't you like about working at Textron?

"Being a contract employee without a benifit package or vacation time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Continue to diversify the work base so it is not entirely dependant on government contracts."

"Bell Helicopter is a very good company to work for, the only bad things is contract with government isn't that good and will cause layoffs."
