"Ready set typing my opinion, the company has lots of options for jobs, mine is just one and they definitely believe in "carrot dangling" in my program, which gives no benefits as it's not a "sykes" job so I do get insurance etc. but no sick days or pto, and wages are a joke for what is expected."

"The best part about working for Sykes was the employees and supervisors, we were a family. But honestly there was no growth in the position which was frustrating at times. I stayed with the same pay rate for two years and the room for growth was so low it was impossible to move anywhere in the company."

"I was released last year because of the direction the business was going. It was stated that the new line of business could not support the number of people anticipated. I believe that there was more to it than what was discussed due to my ADA requirements."

What do you like about working at Sykes Enterprises?

"My supervisor, unlike many others, is supportive and forward thinking."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Many departments are more high-functioning than others. Dig to find out how realistic things like training and advancement are, and what kind of timelines. Negotiate your salary as hard as possible up front - annual merit increases right now are MAYBE 2%. There are always a lot of projects in the air & acquisitions - ask exactly what they see your role as being."

What don't you like about working at Sykes Enterprises?

"Unreasonable workload across the board, and no budgetary ability to bring on more resources. Turnover is high. Sykes years are like dog years - if you've been here 2 years it's like 6 at another company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"SQUELCH THE PARALYZING POLITICS, RED TAPE, SECRET ALLIANCES AND BACKSTABBING. These occur top down. It is expected that projects are always delayed and/or grind to a halt entirely. NOT PRODUCTIVE."

"the diversity of the employees and the accounts made the job very interesting."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at Sykes Enterprises?

"There is a severe lack of support from executive management to the site level that hinders daily work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Less micro managment and a higer understanding of the market they have decided to move into."

"My supervisor is helpful, but my workload is paralyzing. No training. Politics."

What do you like about working at Sykes Enterprises?

"Attempts are made to create a corporate culture. The office itself is nice. Most of my co-workers are sharp, hardworking and supportive. My supervisor is helpful and honest (which is not always the case at Sykes)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Negotiate your salary up front as hard as possible (annual increases are usually only 1-2% unless you're in sales). Ask exactly what projects (and acquisitions) are in progress and coming up. What will your role be in those Get a feel for how flexible your potential manager is. The direction of the company, departments and projects changes frequently and sometimes drastically. If you have a hard time coping with change, a Corporate job at Sykes is NOT for you. If you are flexible & have a thick skin, you'll do well."

What don't you like about working at Sykes Enterprises?

"The politics are absolutely paralyzing. Departments intentionally undermine other departments. Backstabbing & favoritism are so common it's hardly noticed. Projects are regularly stalled or stopped completely because of these issues. Budgetary constraints mean everyone's workload is unmanageable (almost always night & weekend work) and there is no option for hiring more resources. Training and opportunities for advancement are almost nonexistent. Annual merit review is 1-2%."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Drop the politics for just ONE day. Think about what's best for the company as a whole - CEO down to call center agents. What's best for everyone For your department For other departments How can you work towards these greater goals - not just steering towards getting what you YOU want -- This is a very big & very real issue. Also: INVEST IN YOUR EMPLOYEES. Attrition (turnover) is incredibly high. Train your people, give them raises, then watch them work hard for you and be loyal."

"This was the worst job I’ve ever had. There was no opportunity to move up within the company, micromanaging was the WORST. They paid “TL’s” about a dollar more than the regular agents, who in return took that $1 to the head and thought they were the CEO of the company. If the job couldn’t get any better, we were contacted by HR basically saying “hey, we don’t know if you will have a job in the next month and a half, but you’re more than welcome to APPLY to other positions with other clients within our site. Over 300 workers had NO CLUE if they were going to be able to feed their family, pay rent, or even be able to SURVIVE after they changed clientele. It’s horrible. Once the change took effect, we were doing TWICE THE WORK, for a dollar increase in pay. ($12 total). I suggest you look elsewhere because this company definitely doesn’t care about their employees. and don’t get me started on their “benefits” and the ability to move up. It’s dead in a job with TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT."

"Extremely stressful environment they say they will work with you with your anxieties but that's a lie. When you have chronic asthma and employees keep vaping at their desk or bathroom in your lungs close you get sent home which is good but then later you get written up for not being there. At one point they blamed me for claiming I have asthma and told me that I was false for saying that I have it. I showed them my inhaler that I have to carry on my side and they said that was not enough so I had to get a doctor's letter stating I did have asthma and my supervisor drifted up in my face and told me that I'm a piece of crap for claiming I have asthma . I had a coughing fit while on the phone because someone beat again and my supervisor yelled at me and told me to cut it out or to do something about it. I was on the phone with the very sweet customer and they felt really bad for me. They do not keep their word they interfere with religion and family. Promised bonuses were never given. Management doesn't know if they're coming or going and they are very mentally abusive. Receiving phone calls 2 am on your house phone from a supervisor harassing you at your house is not good. I had nothing but High remarks and high reviews for customer satisfaction but Sykes still did not appreciate you. They didn't care about the customers or you. All they are concerned about is how much money they can get in their pocket. They keep your bonuses. They pocket you are bonuses. One of the supervisors I got along with told me that information. Trust me they left because they didn't like how we were all being treated. Always went to someone trying to get help trying to make things better and also going to human resources. Most of the time Human Resources is not available and when you tell them that they chew you out for being a liar and then your supervisor yells at you on top of their lungs for not being at your desk because you went to HR or the bathroom. There is more issues......"

"I've worked for this company and its the worst experience ever throughout my job working history. You have so-called team leaders and supervisors who hides behind customer care representatives when called upon because they want you to do their dirty work (so called policy). Very, very bad company to work for that promises you great benefits but you never see them."
