Store Manager at Wells Fargo
in Atlanta, GA

"This has been my first opportunity to return to basics and manage a single retail branch. All of my previous positions involved oversight over several locations, where branch managers were my direct reports. On a larger scale than present position, I coached, managed and groomed managers. I am now coaching and managing bankers, tellers and service managers. Loan officers, unlike branch managers, basically work for themselves and have the opportunity to determine their income level. I enjoy that!"

Store Manager at Complete Nutrition
in Omaha, NE

"I would not say anything hateful about this position. Being a store manager had so many responsibilities that it made my job challenging. My passion for customer service, helping others, health & fitness and operations made me really enjoy going into work every day. It was a fun atmosphere at a professional level with only the most knowledgeable individuals at your service."

Store Manager at Hudson News
in Santa Ana, CA

"I loved the fact that I was able to be a leader for my two stores and that Profit & Lost was all in my hands. I love that the success or failure would be on my shoulders. It was fun learning how to deal with sales Rep for each store I had under me. Only draw back was being a new position for the company that I had to learn on the go with no coaching given to me for this title."

"The flexibility I have in my role when not under direct supervision or when there is a lack of a company directive. Too many company Policies and Procedures that micro-manage store management."

Store Manager at CVS
in New York City, NY

"CVS pay and manager training is solid. You are given the opportunity to run your location, however, as with most retail, corporate deadlines take precedence over store operations often leading to extremely long hours and seven day work weeks."

"I love the fact that I was training and developing young and old minds because I saw things differently. I also like the fact that I was consistly evolving learning new things about the P&L and just the business itself. I hated the call offs and not really having a real handle on that."

Store Manager at Peekay
in Auburn, WA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"At Peekay, hard work, passion, dedication and a proven track record are worthless."

What do you like about working at Peekay?

"The people were what kept me there so long. But, just like every abusive relationship, I had to get out before it killed me."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just don't. You will regret it. Find something else, anything!"

What don't you like about working at Peekay?

"The pay is BAD. The recognition for ACTUAL success is NONEXISTENT (however there is plenty of recognition to store managers who do not ever make store goals, and are responsible for the majority of the companies turn-over, for suspect reasons). You will be over worked. If you have a family, say goodbye to them now, because you will never see them. And no, you won't be appreciated for your dedication to the job. The upper management is, for the most part, completely disorganized and not professional. There were constant rumors about the Director of Retail having inappropriate relationships with his subordinates. I never put much stock in them, until he promoted a store manager who had NO measurable achievements under her belt and did not even post the promotion or consider any of other managers who actually drive sales, exceed goals and keep employees. In this same round of turn-over band-aid, he also re-hired and promoted a former manager he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with. The benefits are not very good.Upper management does not respect or value the customers or sales associates. It is shameful."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Value dedication and success. Listen to your front-line employees. Question suspect behavior from upper management. Don't talk about how much you CARE, show it!Pay your good employees what they are worth! My last full fiscal year, I increased sales by over 15% from the previous year, using new sales techniques I help develop using a customer-centered approach. I got a 45 cent per hour raise for my accomplishments, less than what I got for my annual raise as a Part-time Sales associate in years prior."

Store Manager at AutoZone

"THE BEST DAY AT AUTOZONE IS YOUR LAST DAY!!"

What do you like about working at AutoZone?

"STARTED OUT AS A GREAT COMPANY AND A GOD PLACE TO WORK"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"DON T DO IT. YOU WILL REGRET THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE."

What don't you like about working at AutoZone?

"THE REGIONAL AND DIVISIONAL STAFFS ARE ONLY OUT TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. THEY WILL DECEIVE AND MANIPULATE THE EMPLOYEES TO GET THE DESIRED RUSULTS AND THEN CAST THEM ASIDE OR THROW THEM UNDER THE BUS IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. THEY PROMOTE ON THE BUDDY SYSTEM. HERE IS A PROCESS , BUT THE FAVS GET ADVANCED TO HELP THE OTHERS BUILD A SOLID FOUNDATION TO THEIR LIKING. THERE IS NO LIFE BALANCE WHAT SO EVER. IF YOU WANT STRESSFUL JOB AND TO RUIN YOUR FAMILY LIFE THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"HAVE SOME REPECT FOR YOUR EMPLOYESS AND TRY DOING THE JOB YOURSELF INSTEAD OF SITTING ON A PEDESTAL AND ACTING LIKE YOUR A GOD."

Store Manager at Panda Express
in Colorado City, CO

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Not good."

What do you like about working at Panda Express?

"Their health benefit is very good. But to get a good one I have to pay off 49$ from my payroll ."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just keep saying you are very humble person and like to work 6 days minimum. They like it!"

What don't you like about working at Panda Express?

"Low pay, very labor job. Bonus can happen only busy store. New manager always be kept in a almost dead store, so all pay only from low salary, 2200$ . A manager at slow store has to work like an associate during business hour after store close it is time to do all paper work like a manager . Finally go home midnight. 2200$ a month is not worth it . They don't pay extra if a manager work more than 50 hours a week ( minimum 50 weekly hours for a manager)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Higher pay. I found out some manager got paid not equally ; some got 3700$ and some got 3200$ at the very beginning of working for Panda . Why they have to do this"
