"It's all about who you know. Management practically has tenure, and during time of local economic hardship, it's a little galling to see local employees get the axe and contractors from India brought in to replace them."

"Past performance is a good predictor of future work. If an employee consistently fails to deliver, you don't have to weigh their promises equally with more reliable employees."

"It was located in a good area, close to the freeway, and there were some good people that worked there."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I was warned by other engineers not to go there. They (RC) lured me in by offering me a large increase in salary and a better job title. In retrospect, neither were worth it. My advice is to stay aware from this company."

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Collins?

"The management I worked with was very poor. Therefore, the program I was working on was run very poorly and everyone suffered because of this. The management lacked leadership skills. Because of this, many good engineers left the company."

"It seems to be the company philosophy that needs adjustment. Otherwise, management will never change. From what I've heard, its been like this for a while now."

"I enjoyed being very hands on in regards to the management of my branch. I was able to affect every aspect of the operation and since the business model was so localized, I was able to quickly produce results within the operation. I think that USSA has one of the best QA programs within the industry and an effective business model."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Develop your management skills and seek to succeed. You will be tested to an extreme and this creates an opportunity for self improvement! Then seek to better yourself for opportunities at other employers that offer more comparable compensation."

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Collins?

"The level of financial compensation compared to the intense levels of stress, responsibility, and workload are not comparable. The position requires a truly committed professional with extensive skill, but the compensation is among the lowest in the industry for comparable positions."

"Develop and pay your branch management team much better. They are the heart and soul of your operation and ultimately are responsible for producing your profit and success. This company can absolutely not keep quality management and this instability results in being the weakness of their business model."
