"Seems like the Queen Mary. Big old ship. Hard to turn around. Only answer to give shareholders more and more money is to lay off more and more people. Feels like they are trying to innovate, but the inertia is too much. Politics are horrendous."
"From 2013 to 2014, do not come here to work, nothing gets done effectively. Enjoyed relaxed working environment because nobody has the sense of how fierce competitions are, glad to get out early without wasting time there!"
"I used to love working for HP, but it has really gone downhill in in the last few years. They are shedding workers in the US as fast as possible -- moving jobs to low cost countries. This leads to a lot of problems - low morale, lots of people assigned to figure out what's wrong, but no one to do the actual work. All of this, and management doesn't seem to have a clue what the actual issues are."
"I love HP!!! it is an excellent company to work with. Love the opportunity to be a team player in my past job."
"Big company, big problems. It will work its way out, I'm confident."
"I've started working for HP since May 2013 as Test Technician."
"I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for less than a year.Pros Flexible, hands on, fun, welcoming, open.Cons Global teams - hard to communicate.Advice to Senior Management have more team building and site socials.Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company."
"Hewlett-Packard is a good company to work for."
"HP is a great place to work in."
"I have worked for HP from 2011 to 2012. This is a new position with responsibilities that I had never performed before. I learned the skills quickly and adapted to the new environment; which enabled me to be productive in a very short time. HP is a great employer because they provide the necessary training for the job. Managers, although demand much, are experts in their fields and are very available to help the staffs they supervise. I respect them very much."
"I have been employed by Hewlett Packard since April of 2008. The organization that I work for is stable. The company currently has a work force of roughly 240,000 employees. We receive a yearly bonus, 401k employer match benefits program, and a few other perks. I love being a hardware design engineer and the work I do on a daily basis is pretty challenging."
"I worked as a contractor for HP for 2 years."
"I've worked for Hewlett-Packard for almost a year and my favorite about the company is the willingness of everyone to help each other out with the different issues and the kindness of all the management to work with all of the employees' schedules and requests. With a company this big, it is easy to become dry and uninterested in everyday tasks and conversations, but this company has done a great job of implementing workplace activities that keep all the employees involved."
"I have worked for HP at the Houston site in CCM6 for 2 years as a contractor. The way contractors are treated in manufacturing is indifferent at best. Even the best and the brightest are treated as replaceable cogs in the machine. Work processes and procedures are disorganized at best. Multiple layers of management make it difficult to improve processes. The company is in the middle of a turn around and I think the CEO is making mostly good choices."
