"I've worked at HP for a number of years now, as a contractor in this latest stint, but previously, as a full-time employee. The culture at HP has changed over time. I remember it as a friendly, congenial atmosphere, rather like one big, happy family. At present, the company is still interested in hiring the best and brightest recent graduates, which I admire. But the willingness to separate and compartmentalize important product development functions may hurt them in the end."

Working at Hewlett-Packard in Bethesda, MD: 2 Employee Reviews

Manager

"Horrible company to work for, get out ASAP."

What do you like about working at Hewlett-Packard?

"Nothing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't bother, They will woo you with marginal increase and a signing bonus. That is all the raise you will see for the next several years."

What don't you like about working at Hewlett-Packard?

"It is a horrible place to work, the management has a pay freeze since last 5 years and they have cut pay by 5%. Meanwhile the stock price continues to rise. They make you work 50 to 60 hours a week and then put lumps of coal in your stockings when it is bonus time. There is absolutely no career growth. They pay lip service to training and career path. Once you reach a certain mid-senior level folks continue to be worker bees without any prospect for growth."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They are too busy lining their own pockets and playing politics to try and move up the chain."

Enterprise Account Manager

"Enjoyed working with customers."
