"Ford Motor was a great company to work for but the the Van Dyke Plant management has a lot to be desired. Advancement beyond a certain level within the plant is almost nonexistant. There's a lot of Fast Trackers (nepitism) that get run through the plant into the upper management jobs until their sponsor can put them in a prefered corporate position. A lot of great people had to leave the plant and go to another Ford plant in order to get a promotion to the next level because the Van Dyke Plant doesn't promote their own."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Start looking at and recognizing the great talent you have within the plant. Promote the people that have worked there and made that facility the World Class operation it is."

"Having grown up admiring their product, it was rewarding to assist their future sales successes."

"Employees were promoted based on seniority."

"Instill a performance based compensation program, and continue to reward those who develop efficiencies for the company."
