Working at Walgreens in Orlando, FL: 6 Employee Reviews

Service Desk Coordinator

"Worked almost 3 years and was told because I was late (which they tracked down over months) and was told to terminate my employment without giving me any discipline or write ups. As for me, I have to have a second job and I am continuing my education full time in school and I was doing 10 hour shifts full time. They didn't take anything into consideration and decided because i was late, it was considered "stealing companies time". The policy states if you go over the maximum times you are late, you get write ups or it goes into determination. I never got a single write up or discipline since I worked there and I never met this HR person a single day in my life working there... They also decided to do it during holiday season, I mean 2 days after Christmas, to terminate my employment, which means it will be super difficult to be hired anywhere this time. They also stated they had to do the same to people who even worked there for as long as 10 years. It's a shame a company does this, I would hire someone who is late but knowingly gets the job done rather than someone who is always on time that is behind or doesn't do anything. HR doesn't even bother with your explanations, they are just like "we got you on camera, you were LATE". I totally understand on disciplining or terminating people who don't care, but I legit had explanations and I legit put in effort when I came in to work such as doing overtime, changing my schedule as needed or working faster if I come in. I always worked hard when I was in the building and on the clock even though the job was lacking innovation and quality, I even offered the idea to work from home since about 90% my work is just on the computer, and about 10% is actually dealing with inventory. But, I was shot down the idea, even though I live an hour away from work... All in all, work is not too bad if you are a perfect minded robot working in an industrial machine. No longer how long you work hard or how long your length is"
