"United Space Alliance is a 51/49 partnership between Boeing and Lockheed Martin. USA held the primary responsiblity for the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs for many years until 2009 when they lost the rebid of the contract to Lockheed Martin and served as the primary subcontractor on the contract. USA was and still is a great company to work for. They consistently received high ratings from the managers at JSC. The work environment was great..they provided training and the ability to move to other positions. They did a lot of volunteer work in the community and when we were laid off we had the best severance package of all of the companies at JSC. They took care of us very well."

"Flex time, and respect. Loved the people who were very supportive. Also, it was close to where I live."

"I think it is a great company and it was wonderful working on the shuttle program."

"I didn't always feel like I had management support or that he had an awareness of my job responsibilities."

"Continue to respect their people, listen to ideas, and not to micro-manage."

"As a government controlled industry, the over-reaction to isolated, minor issues was extremely cumbersome."

"Relax. Trust the engineers and technicians to accomplish their tasks without multiple pointless meetings."

"Lingering doubt (toward the end) concerning the future of our industry, collapse of leadership."

"Look out for outside opportunities for employees,who are logically concerned about their future."

"The work I currently do at USA is very complex and low-level Linux real-time development."

"Since USA is eventually going to dissolve, I recommend looking elsewhere for permanent work."

"Since the downfall of human spaceflight at NASA, our mission has been questionable. I desire an opportunity that provides a solid future and direction to advance my career."

"USA's management is very sincere but working in a difficult environment of inevitable doom. All I can say is continue to be sincere and honest with the remaining workforce."

What do you like about working at United Space Alliance?

"The people are tremendous and have an incredible capacity for greateness. However, due to the politics of its parent companies (Boeing and Lockheed) they aren't being allowed to demonstrate it."

"This used to be a really great company, and I'm sorry you missed that opportunity."

What don't you like about working at United Space Alliance?

"All of the great things about the culture are slowly breaking down due to the lack of commitment from the parent companies."

"Keep employees better informed about what's going on with the company."

What do you like about working at United Space Alliance?

"Working on the US Space Program was a worth-while endeavor while it lasted. The people were outstanding."

"I have no advice because United Space Alliance may soon disband, and there are very few if any jobs available."

What don't you like about working at United Space Alliance?

"The last 2 years were strictly training, to keep us busy and available just-in-case something went wrong on the last 5 Space Shuttle flights."

"None. I believe that they did the best they could within the constraints of working for a US government agency."
