"United Space Alliance is a 51/49 partnership between Boeing and Lockheed Martin. USA held the primary responsiblity for the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs for many years until 2009 when they lost the rebid of the contract to Lockheed Martin and served as the primary subcontractor on the contract. USA was and still is a great company to work for. They consistently received high ratings from the managers at JSC. The work environment was great..they provided training and the ability to move to other positions. They did a lot of volunteer work in the community and when we were laid off we had the best severance package of all of the companies at JSC. They took care of us very well."

"Continue to respect their people, listen to ideas, and not to micro-manage."

"As a government controlled industry, the over-reaction to isolated, minor issues was extremely cumbersome."

"Relax. Trust the engineers and technicians to accomplish their tasks without multiple pointless meetings."

"Since the downfall of human spaceflight at NASA, our mission has been questionable. I desire an opportunity that provides a solid future and direction to advance my career."

"USA's management is very sincere but working in a difficult environment of inevitable doom. All I can say is continue to be sincere and honest with the remaining workforce."

"Everyone at USA from the top to the bottom were completely dedicated to supporting the Space Shuttle. This created an environment that wasn't just a job, but a part of history."

"This was not just a job, it was a mission."

What don't you like about working at United Space Alliance?

"They spent so much time trying to prepare us for the layoff, while giving out little information on how the company was trying to adapt. This amplified the dark atmosphere at the end."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They were slow to adapt to the changing space program. This resulted in the company being unprepared when the Aries program was cut and the Shuttle program ended."
