"I worked in KPMG for little over a year and my experience has not been the best. I also worked for other Big 4 Firms and I thought KPMG lagged behind."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"KPMG should be your last choice. KPMG ranks the 4th in the Big 4 and I suggest going to other Big 4s who are more competitive!"

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"The politics, the back-biting, the first impressions, the lack of good technology used in audits, the numerous binders used during audit."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Buy a good audit software so the company can be paperless. All Big 4s have great audit softwares, giving them flexibility, efficiencies and ease of audit. Instead of firing people, forcing them to resign so they have an image of not firing people in the market. Judging employees by how long they work vs how efficient they are. These are areas to improve on."

"If you are an accountant and need your creds for CPA, there is not much of a choice. Others, only if you need bucks."

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"Most partners I knew make Saddam Hussein look like honorable and honest man."

"Don't pick up soap in the shower."

"It allows you to get experience in many industries and companies, as well as both private and public sector. You can have access to a broad range of professionals: specialists, senior management, CEOs, CFOs and board. Is a fantastic opportunity to learn different businesses from top executives."

"Be aware of the range of positions you can have at KPMG and select what best suits you: financial audit, internal audit, ITA. Be flexible and enjoy to adapt yourself to different environments and people."

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"In some cases the compensation is not according to the level of professionalism you display in the different engagements. There is high rotation of personnel not allowing to have a stable team."

"Review of compensation packages and retention plans for capable personnel."

"Affiliated with a global and respected firm in the accounting industry; good training and training seminars offered; above-average computer resources; my role was non-traditional and involved variety; projects were often non-recurring; worked with different people in issues that were not always tied directly to finance or accounting."

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"Sometimes felt like it was a 'revolving door'; potential for overtime and traveling; however, I was fortunate to have most of my work assignments locally and my overtime was minimal. However, one trip I made in particular was to Houston that involved Enron, right at the time of all their publicly reported problems. I was a part of history (so to speak) as I can say I was there on a project for a time leading up to the day they closed their doors for business."
