"Straight commission, tough job, very little support."
What do you like about working at Aflac?
"Company had training but you had to pay for some of it as a condition of employment. The marketing department did a good job of creating presentation packages."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Wear a white dress shirt and a tie if you are a man. I walked in the office on a lot of interviews--they pretty much hire anyone and everyone who can pass a criminal background check and pass a life/health exam."
What don't you like about working at Aflac?
"Straight commission with no account provided. You had to purchase everything you need to work. The company provided nothing. Very few agents are be seen as management material."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Build a better support network. Give a more accurate picture of what working an outside straight commission job is like."
What do you like about working at California Casualty?
"Low micro management, professional environment, very low stress, great management"

"Have patience and be very persistent. It's going to take a while but the potential is there"

"Amount of time to ramp-up and have enough leads to be successful"

"Losen some of the acceptibility guidelines, take on a little more risk to get more of our focused clients through the door"

"Waking up wanting to go to work every day. My co-workers, our clients and knowing we all work together for our company success."

"You will love working here, your co-workers really care, be honest, give back, you will go far."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"Rate increases. It breaks your heart to call customers and let them know what to expect on their renewal."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Sell sell sell, Keep your feet on the ground, and reach for the stars."
What do you like about working at Allstate?
"My boss and my co-workers are great. Also, I enjoy helping people and making sure they understand what they are buying. I like explaining details and having others forma relationship with me and they trust me with their home and auto insurance."

"You need to be more focused on customer service and not necessarily sales. There is a group of people who love the Allstate brand and they just need outstanding customer service to stay devoted to Allstate."
What don't you like about working at Allstate?
"Allstate as a company is struggling. The company is not allowing individual agents to grow their book of business. Allstate has raised rates 4 years in a row and it is hard to convince people they are buying the best when sometimes I don't always feel they are."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Work with the agents to help them grow the business, which would in turn strengthen Allstate as a whole. Raising rates and having the agents explain rate increases year after year is not allowing for an increase in business."

"The ability to make and set my own appointments and meet with clients in their homes."

"You will need to put in long hours and build your book of business fast in order to survive. You will also need deep pockets in order to purchase the number of leads to make it pay off."

"They bill you for everything and tax all of the incentives."

"Be upfront when interviewing potential sales reps, tell them what to really expect when it comes to building a book of business."

"Company is under-capitalized and needs additional funding to take it to the next level."

"Realize the business your getting in. This is the hardest form of sales. Selling product that you'll never see."

"Poor local support. As a new agent the local management turned me out with very little support and training."

"Estasblish a much more agressive training program. The money you spent will come back."

"Stability and strength. Also a very secure place to work"

"There are some good things, but there are some not so good things."

"The pay is not great. I want more opportunity to make more money."

"I would allow more pportunity for the individual's that are performing well"

"My coworkers and training managers. I also really appreciate the work environment created for agents at the company. We are encouraged to become independent in our careers, while still remaining part of a team."

"Be aware of the commission structure and compensation you expect to receive. Those might not align."
What don't you like about working at American Income Life Insurance Co.?
"The compensation and the unpredictability of future sales. While bonuses and renewals are very attractive, I miss having a stable and consistant pay."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"No suggestions. I believe that the company operates in a very well structured and friendly way."

"Working with people, making my own schedule, residual commissions, being the boss."

"Get ready to work hard and be frustrated. Don't take rejection personally."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"Working for a company that is so money driven, no matter how difficult they make it for the agents. Being so greedy that we are losing our best customers because the company does not care. The company is too stubborn to realize if they take care of the people that are making them their fortune, they would make more money."

"I would take care of the people who actually make the money for the company. Be more concerned and flexible when it comes to our long time customers."

"Training and leadership was not what was promised to me."
What do you like about working at Insphere Insurance Solutions?
"I like the freedom to run my own business and deal with customers individually and in a personal way."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Know that their turnover is about 70%. Be prepared to demand everything you need to do the job (training) within the first week. If they don't comply, politely decline to work for them. They prey on new agents (who don't know the score), so you might pull an existing one aside and ask what to expect."
What don't you like about working at Insphere Insurance Solutions?
"I dislike hierarchy carrying negative overtones about how something should be handled when they didn't provide their method for carrying out a presentation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If you're going to hold the hand (as promised) of each employee, don't decide that one person needs any more or less training than another one. Because a person was your friend outside the job doesn't mean they aren't just another employee once they're on the payroll."

"The people, the opportunity to be your own business owner."

"Know there is a lot of memorization regarding scripts and plans."
What don't you like about working at Aflac?
"Training is unorganized and haphazard at times, long in-house meetings, frequent changes (sometimes a method of sales is okay when another is not)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Have a better set plan for the training of new agents and keep flexibility in mind for the employees. This job is supposed to give flexibility to a point since we are 1099 employees."
What do you like about working at Direct Auto Insurance?
"It's a job and it pays the bills. Well, let me rephrase, it pays the bills if you have few bills."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Having a degree is pointless, as they'll hire most anyone based on other agents I've associated with. Tell them you're willing to work with non standard customers who will cancel repeatedly and work for little pay. Because ultimately, that's what it will amount to if you're hired."
What don't you like about working at Direct Auto Insurance?
"Non-standard insurance. Your typical client will not maintain their coverage for long at all so whatever commissions you make will be short lived. Management has no direction and little clue as to what the agents deal with daily. The claims department is horrific and how they've avoided a lawsuit to put them out of business forever is amazing. The claims office's lack of doing anything right will come back to haunt you as an agent. Your reputation will be tarnished as you can do nothing about their unwillingness to pay alot of claims fairly or in a timely fashion. As an agent, there's nothing you can do about it either."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Revamp the place, hire educated and professional people at all levels or close the doors. No one likes working for a company with no vision and with no direction or career growth opportunities. Direct offers none."
