"I have worked for IBM as contractor for over 5 years. In the current position of Kernel Development Support, I have worked for 2+ years. It's a very good place to work on Unix kernel and work with customers. However I am better suited for development role and since our division is getting outsourced, looking for employment in this group."

"I've worked for IBM since 2000. They used to emphasize competitive pay & focus on employee satisfaction. They have shifted towards focus on making their stock value look good to shareholders. Very questionable decisions & direction the last few years. Test & quality is a top priority, however, that gets pushed aside in crunch time & the focus is on meeting deadlines. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I had and truly enjoyed my time there, but change will be good."

"Seems to be driven by stockholders, not by innovation."

"Stop letting Wall Street dictate how you handle your employees. Nurture a good work environment and innovation will flourish again."

"Choose who you work for, which division you work for carefully."

"I do not like too much politics involved in the working environment, especially from the management."

"The important decisions made from management need to based on long term, not short term."

"Be honest, be technical, and be secure and show them why the company needs you."

"Sometimes the bad decision of the leaders, the client tower."

"Get a better strategy to get a better estimation about what the client needs from us."

"When I was there, there was not much room to grow or expand at the time."

"Lack of communication among the peers, poor documentation of the deployed applications."

"Management did not stress much on communication among the team members."

"No longer term vision, stock price/accountants seem to drive business decisions."

"Someone needs to drive a genuine discussion on growing revenues instead of trying to shrink expenses. You can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect different results."

"if you are taking an opportunity meet as many people as you can."

"Old School. Investor focused instead of employee focused. Annoying Pyramid hierarchy."
