Sales Agent

"If you work hard you can make a ton of money in sales."

What do you like about working at GEICO?

"If you are willing to work hard you can seriously make a ton of money. You get your regular pay no matter what, but if you exceed your goals you get a monthly bonus on top of it. No joke, some salespeople at GEICO make six figures working on the phones. No cold-calling, so people who call in are nice; I've done cold-calling in the past and it was awful--it's nothing like other call centers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Sell yourself in the interview. If you have a crappy job history, you better have a good reason for not staying at your other jobs--they'll want you to stay here for a long time."

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

"I don't have a problem with anything, really. It's nice to be selling something that is required by law--it's a lot easier to convince people to buy."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Let people know when they're doing a good job. Don't stress people out."

"Best job I've found."

What do you like about working at GEICO?

"Awesome benefits, good starting pay, I've gotten 5 pay raises already."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be positive and excited; you don't want to come off like you're not even interested in the job you applied for!"

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

"Most customers you talk to are generally happy and just need to pay their bill but some customers are angry. You just learn to deal with them without letting it get you down. For the most part, people are nice."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay attention to their associates and to supervisors. Make sure supervisors are working just as hard as the agents."

Customer Service Representative

"Good job, don't have to worry about money or layoffs."

What do you like about working at GEICO?

"Overall a pretty great place to work. Better pay and hours than a lot of other jobs; lots of chances to earn raises. I make more money here than when I was using my degree; I wish I would have started here during college so I could have gotten tuition reimbursed! If you're thinking about GEICO, you should definitely give it a chance. As long as you have a positive attitude and show up when you're scheduled, you'll do well."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be yourself but put your best foot forward. If you're a hard worker with a positive attitude you'll do well here."

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

"It's a basic, no frills office but that keeps costs down so we can charge our customers less, so that's good. It can get boring sitting at a desk all day, but most jobs can be boring so at least this is comfortable."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep working hard, listen to employees. Associates like it when you're out in the sections; it keeps people motivated."

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

"Geico is a good company to work for. The position is where the stress comes from. I am dealing with peoples' cars and money, pretty much the two things people care most about. People don't want to listen to what I have to tell them, and they constantly get angry or aggressive when they don't understand what's going on."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would focus less on the massive multitude of metrics we are demanded to exceed in."

"The people were nice and respectful. Benefits were pretty good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
