"Don't waste your time. Go out and look for a real job where you can be respected as a person."

"The management is undertrained on how to talk to employees. I work there for 16 years and watch it get worse every year until I finaaly had to leave."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Learn how to talk to and treat people. Your employees are what makes a store and a compant, not hte people to sit in the offices and act like they have a clue as to what is best for a store. Work in a store and see how it really is."

"Poor management at the district level. Regional as well was very picky and tried to put fear into store managers. And really upset about being laid off after putting 14 years of dedication into the company."

"Don't micro manage. Get out there and be a leader."

"Value City Department Stores is no longer in business. There is a Value City Furniture business; however, the two are not related."

"College job with tons of responsibilities where I learned a ton, under poor upper management however."
What do you like about working at Ace Hardware?
"It was an environment where a self motivated person like myself could excel and more importantly where it showed. I moved from a cashier to a management position very quickly because I put out the efforts that were noticed by the upper management. It also allowed me to partake in many management decisions like inventory management, HR decisions, and employee training; all of which where I learned a ton while getting my business degree."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Prepare yourself for anything and everything. If you perform well at your job and look to advance there, you will most likely move up quickly, however the ceiling may not be as high as you may hope. All in all it is a good workplace and one where you can learn a ton."
What don't you like about working at Ace Hardware?
"The upper management was almost non-existent and there was no communication there. It seemed as if we were fighting against ourselves rather than working together to try and excel."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Have a better structure in place to where there is far less turnover and a lot more efficiency."

"The staff was great to work with. The benefits the company provided were exeptional.Guardian is a privately owned company.Opportunities for advancement due to 20-30% turnover in salary staff."

"Do not consider unless you want to spend many hours at work and pushing your family to the side.Do not consider unless you want to learn how not to treat people."
What don't you like about working at Guardian Industries?
"Upper management constantly created survivor syndrome.People were excused for no apparent reason just to be replaced.Upper management constantly ridiculed and degraded staff.Upper management appeared to have no experience or understanding of the lower levels of the company and therefore did not understand all the aspects which created animosity.If an employee spoke up against management in order to improve the company, that employee would be replaced."

"Remove and replace upper management.Treat others as you want to be treated.Do not harass the staff."

"Nice bonus package at the year end, good communications. Many experienced senior engineers"

"Look at their back log of work and what you will be doing when the contract your working on ends."

"no management support or communication feedback. I worked as a temp beyond the time I was supposed to for a LOT less money, with the promise of full time company employment. didn't happen!"

"Listen to your employees! Scratch the middle management."

What do you like about working at Ameriquest?
"At the time I was employed, the company was in a growth phase. It was an exciting and energetic opportunity where we had the tools at hand to create the best in policies and procedures."

"The company is no longer in existence having had financial difficulties. It was sold a couple years ago to Citibank."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The former management has been dissolved as well as the company. My main suggestion is that they understand the following equation: profit = revenue - cost."
