What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
I loved the relationships that I developed with clients, and felt like my co-workers were my family. I also appreciated the different types of people I was able to meet.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
I felt that I was unappreciated by management on both the local and regional levels. I brought many important issues to them in a very professional manner, and was treated as if they were unimportant. These issues included ethics issues and compensation issues.
What suggestions do you have for management?
I know the structure of support level employment has changed at this firm since I left, but I feel it would benefit them to pay support adequately and gain appreciation for the service they provide.

I used to like to have a good team as teamwork and respectful
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
I dont like to see people who worked on their own and not allowed to share some work with other peers.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Communicate clearly to students your policy on responding or not responding to email messages. Set up a separate email address where students can email you. Only check this email when you plan to respond to student emails. Be clear with my peers about when I will be available, how often I check my email, and how much time they should allow for you to get back to them. Give students a deadline for sending questions electronically before exams and assignments. Let them know when you will stop responding to emails
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
Let them challenge and figure out what is the best for themselves to answer. If they choose honest to answer the question. That's great!

training and corporate environment
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
brokers are out of hand and get what want with sales assistants have minimum rights in workplace
What suggestions do you have for management?
support and compensate sales assistants directly, not at mercy of brokers who think they own you for adding $1 per hour to your paycheck, phones are out of control in offices and need to be ansswered automatically or provide sufficient backup, always a problem at our branch causing friction with workers not backing up brokers they do not even work for

get along with the broker, branch manager and ops manager you report to and cya

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
Good set of co-workers. With the under average pay mostly newly arrived immgrants took the job. High level of cameraderie.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
Can be removed immediately at the discretion of the Morgan manager without any recourse for appeal or explanation. Modern day slavery.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Waste of time to make any suggestion. The outsourcing relation is an exploitative one. You have to be dreaming if you think these guys are waiting for suggestions.

You are lucky to be interviewed by an American - they look for an overall balance of character. Most of the immigrants pepper you with technical details.

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
Morgan Stanley was a great company with a fantastic training program that helped in developing my skills as a salesman and advisor.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
The only issue was that Morgan at that time required me to sell a specific line of products without letting me define the needs of the clients to then match the best product.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Management did a good job of staying involved in their employees businesses. To continue to stay involved is the best advice.

Make sure you express your outstanding ability to market your product and close business in a competitive environment.

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
The training thy offered was good and prepared me to handle a variety of business needs.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
Their work environment was too stressful. Ther was less of an emphasis placed on helping people and businesses and more on selling proprietary products that may not have been suitable for what the client was looking for.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Develop a culture that emhsizes clients first, coducive work environment second and a financial reward structure that is not so top heavy.

There are too many highly paid managers that do nothing except push paperwork to the next higher paid manager that also does little or nothing, except to perpetuate the cycle.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Give a higher regard to your employees - and not on paper because you have that covered and polished - real life is what I'm referring to

Know your subject matter, or know a senor insider that has your back. It's all about, "Who has your back."

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
I liked the intensive and focused research environment. I also appreciated the intellectual challenge and diversity of the material that we produced for associates and senior managers.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
The hours were sometimes very long, but the location was good so late night transporation was not a consideration.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Stay focused on continual improvement of the skill set for the team

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
I was a Shearson Lehman employee before Smith Barney took over. Shearson Lehman was an excellent company to work for. Smith Barneydid not offer the same benefits as Shearson Lehman.
What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?
Dificult to adjust with their culture.

Sure things changed from 14 years ago. Improve the employee, employer relationship.
