"Most technologically inept company of all-time!"
What do you like about working at Wellpoint?
"I had a great group of co-workers there. If only management would actually trust people more."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Run away. No, just kidding. Be prepared for lots of red tape to get anything accomplished."
What don't you like about working at Wellpoint?
"In the interest of full disclosure, I am being laid off by the company, however I have been saying these things for over two years. The upper management at WellPoint is completely technologically inept. They seem to base decisions on the faulty assumption that disk space is expensive and labor is cheap. They had a concept known as e-mail jail where if you exceeded your allotment, you would not be able to send or receive messages for 2 days. They thankfully got rid of that, but they are very unlikely to provide the proper amount of servers to allow us to have full production, test and development environments which leads to too much repurposing of servers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Disk space is cheap, labor is not. Memorize this statement and refer back to it every time a decision must be made!"
What do you like about working at Panasonic?
"I had very interesting projects. This way I could show my skills."

"Be prepared for very strange questions depends on the position you applied"
What don't you like about working at Panasonic?
"I had doubled managers and very often I had to report the same two times."

"The manager show asked questions and then make a clear decision"

"The company offers work from home opportunity, which makes scheduling flexible."

"Be prepared. There are both written and oral tests and it is very detail oriented."

"Banks have many supervisions when doing things. For example, you can have admin rights on your local PC."

"Give people more freedom to choose the technical tools they like."

"I got to work at home. CEO hires me for short-time contracts if I need work."

"run, flee, vamoose, retreat, hide, ski-daddle, high tail it, now!"

"No ability to monitor progress incrementally. Always wated until delivery time. By then it was too late to make changes"

"Implement Scrum or Agile. At least a little bit of either. Daly meetings to discuss progress."

"Often I have found in interviewing prspective candidates at GalaxE that candidates who appear to have requisite experience but, due to a lack of preparation cannot answer specifics and as a result fail to impress."

"Much of my current work is developing SSIS ETL projects to the exclusion of all other technologies; a condition which will over time atrophy my other skill sets."

"We consult with large and mid sized corporations to create and or improve software services, Wile this provides for a diverse customer and code base it requires management to comprimise solution architecture in order to maintain deliveries. I believe if more Services were productized the services could be delivered more efficiently with more elegant and cleaner architectures."

"The compensation for the area is above average, other than that not much. For developers it's not the greatest place to work."

"Unless you like a long commute or living in the middle of nowhere look elsewhere. OK City would be a better place to be."

"Intrusive corporate policy and in many cases needless regulation with regard to development. Policy after policy after policy..."

"Ensure that your teams are managed by seasoned managers rather than new Up and coming employees looking to make that difference. Making a difference is tough when you don't know the first thing about development."
