"Ive worked for PLS logistics for about a year. It’s very much a “get what you put in” type of a job. If you hit your goals you will be rewarded. It is a great place to hone your sales skills as well as develop relationships with other businesses."
"I have worked for PLS for a few months and to sum it up, it was nothing as expected. False hope for growth. Poor compensation and commissions Poor leadership."
"They aren't worth talking about."
"PLS Logistics is a strong company, but it has some identity issues, on what do they really want to be. Freight brokerage firm, or a technology firm. They sometimes need to just go with an idea, run with it, fail fast if need be, but at least wait for data to come back to tell the tale."
"It's a good company - very stable and so on."
"I've worked in this company about 2 years and found this company very stable and friendly."
"I worked with PLS Logistics for a year. The workplace could be too relaxed at times and was not the corporate culture I had anticipated. However, the employees and managers were very helpful and wanted success. I valued the experience I learned from PLS and will take the experience I gained into my corporate future."
What do you like about working at PLS Logistics Services?
"Being in the transportation inudstry. Working with other young professionals looking to better themselves."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Look for a different job. High turnover and majority of the ones that make it are simply managing recycled accounts. There are better options out there. I'm about to leave myself. over 50% of the employees on the floor have been interviewing or are looking for a different job now."
What don't you like about working at PLS Logistics Services?
"Wreckless growth structure. CEO with no experience or knowledge on transportation / logistics. Management team built from the buddy system. Low morale. Compensation extremely low compared to industry standards. All the money goes to outrageous top earner trips at the end of the year and excess amount of trainees on the floor who end up getting fired or quit in the end with only a 5-10% retention rate. Lack of direction and professionalism from management. Just dont work here."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Have a more reasonable and professional growth strategy. Better compensate the people who bring in the money. Put people in management who have been successful at the position they are trying to teach. Learn about the industry my company is in (hint hint). take responsible actions rather than knee jerk ones that lead to further stress on the floor. Listen to the people on the floor who do the work / bring in the money. Not continuously higher HR folks to bring in freshly college grads who have no job experience. Not continously flop the branch manager, but find one that knows what they are doing. Not rule with an iron fist and get a feel for what actually happens on the floor. Stick to what I know and for the current CEO, it is not logistics."
"I learned a lot, turnover high, employees very unhappy"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at PLS Logistics Services?
"Unprofessional atmosphere....if you make a mistake you will get screamed at, made fun of, harrassed. Management does not teach you....they tell you what you did wrong sometimes but never how to fix itFavoritism is evidentThey expect you to work 55-60 hours a week but only pay a salary (at first, then commission)40 minutes away from cityNo job securityBuilding a book of business is based off of luck and favoritism....If you look at every successful account executive, you will see one of those two traits. One week you can make a ton of money, next week you can owe PLS money (due to commission on a draw structure)Your success is determined by truck drivers at times....if a driver misses a pick up or deliver that you schedule for a customer, you can loose that customer when it is not your fault"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Police things better. Enforce rules and make it a professional atmosphere. I understand it is stressful, difficult work, but you can still have fun while being professional. I was being made fun of and told my manager and he did nothing about it. I am not trying to talk down on the company, it could be very successful just need to take a step back and look at yourself. Tell employees upfront about the 55-60 hour work weeks.Pay AET's a little moreHave an exit process. So many people quit, have them take a survey or an exit interview to find out what went wrong.Stop luring people in to the company by saying you play basketball, air hockey, and play wii. This is not true after the first two weeks.Stay in touch with new hires. The process when I was there is you throw them out on the floor and then check in with them a week afterwards, then don't talk to half of them again for a month or two."
