Paralegal

"I throughly enjoyed working at McGuireWoods. They gave me the tools I need to succeed and learn more about the industry. It is a firm that allows for flexibility and independence. Your success depends on you. It is a very large firm so there are many moving parts. For paralegals you have a direct supervising attorney that you report to daily and an administration that you have never met. The structure can be very confusing when it comes to annual reviews and asking Human Resources or administrative questions. Other then that the attorneys I worked with day to day were very upbeat and willing to work as a team. The firm atmosphere is serious because of the field of work but they do enjoy down time and trying to establish a pleasant atmosphere where people want to work."

What do you like about working at McGuireWoods?

"The corporate associate was the best associate I ever work for. Enough could not be said about his leadership, mentoring, coaching and support. I liked supporting two other partners there with banking and structured finance and bankrutpcy. The banking partner had a process he wanted me to follow, and of course, a plan. I truly respected his approach. I developed many computer skills over and beyond what I knew when I started there. They use Elite for their billing system which has many multi-facets to it."
