Working at Kenexa in Lincoln, NE: 5 Employee Reviews

Data Entry Operator

"Very Dishonest Manager"

What do you like about working at Kenexa?

"For years it had been great until the wrong people would get hired. There was often urgency to fill a position to lessen the workload and then the position would fill quickly and it turned out that the worst person imaginable had been hired. Before these slow, lazy, self-indulgent people were hired, Kenexa had been great to work for. (My opinion.)"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Keep in mind that you might actually possess more work experience than the manager you get placed underneath and that manager, probably due to feeling insecure for being so young and inexperienced, will bring you and your coworkers down through patronizing remarks. Be prepared to handle such a situation. This scenario is not uncommon within this organization."

What don't you like about working at Kenexa?

"Having to watch and listen to a young, inexperienced manager put his own selfish needs before everyone else's by constantly answering personal calls (from friends and family) on his cell phone, or going to the bathroom for 20 mins in the a.m. and then another 20 in the afternoon of every single day for years. And if that wasn't enough, he'd have his staff stop working so he could talk to them for an hour or more about his personal life and the latest movie he saw, etc. He also would type up manuscripts on his own personal laptop, working on his personal blog and a manuscript for his self-help book on how to manage your time and be productive. Seriously!! Can't Kenexa claim such a book as their own and acquire the sales of the book since it was written on company time"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay attention to lower management and how they use their time, or don't use their time. A lot of people are afraid to go to HR and complain because of the antagonism and dishonesty and blockades that come from some managers, so do your own investigating and take the initiative to interview your staff about how things are really going. So frustrating when stuff like this goes on and on and on, costing the company productive time and money."

"Sexually Charged Atmosphere"

What do you like about working at Kenexa?

"The employees are generally very friendly and can be fun to work with. Almost everyone works very, very hard. (Note, I said almost everyone.) Location is nice. Opportunities for employment within the organization. Opportunities to work with very famous clients. That's about it for the positives of this place."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"During the interview ask about the ethics of the company. Ask them if they keep in mind that they are in the Human Resources field and if they actually abide by the advice that they dispense to clients. (Of course, they will say yes.)"

What don't you like about working at Kenexa?

"The constant affairs that go on throughout the office and not just with a few people, but all over. Men and women who have photos of their spouses and kids on their desk while having affairs with staff. Sexual banter, flirting. Young girls throwing themselves at men in power, etc. Groping and grabbing at expos & conferences where there is NO accountability. Men taking TV's Mad Men as their model. Similarly, women taking the television show Desperate Housewives as their model. It's sickening. Stepping into this office is like stepping back into the 1960s, 70s, 80s. Worse are the staff members who flirt with clients at conferences & expos."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop having physical relationships with subordinates and then giving them a raise or a job promotion. Mistresses and boy toys DO TALK. Not everyone you pay $$$ to and command, Don't tell anyone is actually going to obey you. Nothing destroys morale faster than seeing management and senior management have affairs with a staff member (most everyone in management is happily married) and later seeing that staff member suddenly and inexplicably get promoted into a newly created position. On rare occasions, when the relationship ends, that position is suddenly taken away and the employee is quietly told to leave the company ASAP! Is this ethical for an HR company...or ANY COMPANY!!"

"Hours of unpaid time; repeatedly sexually harassed & not allowed to go to HR."

What do you like about working at Kenexa?

"The furniture, carpet, and painted walls were all very nice."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't! Seriously! If you need the job and get it, then have a back-up plan in the near future."

What don't you like about working at Kenexa?

"As an hourly employee, having to put in hours of unpaid time each week, month. Not being allowed to leave my dept., even to get a soda, nor allowed to go to HR for anything--even when being bullied by management, or repeatedly sexually harassed by an employee (older female) I didn't even know or ever worked with."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't write a book which emphasizes the importance of work/life balance and give it to all the employees who have no work/life balance in your company. Stop flirting with employees if you are married, and certainly don't promote those employees you have a public relationship with."
