"Applicants at the American Red Cross should understand that their service will be for the better good of the community. They should also understand that as a non-profit organization, their compensation will be less than it is for a comparable position in the private sector."

What don't you like about working at American Red Cross?

"The growth in the organization was extremely slow. This was frustrating for me because I was looking to grow in my career. I understand it was due to the stagnant economy and not to any fault of the management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They should hang in there and do what they can to weather through the tough economy."

"I don't like not being a long-term member of the team. I don't have any real responsibilities beyond short-term assignments."

"My manager is great, and I work with some really sweet people. A lot of the members are very friendly and easy-going. The food/drinks at the cafe are good. The club is kept clean, and looks nice. The location is convenient."

"Think the way the members think! Listen to their feedback, and your employee's feedback. Take us seriously...you'd make a lot more money!"
