"IBM - great jumping point to a real career."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"Great, talented staff. Peers can provide significant information and are always helpful."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If they say 90% travel - it's really 100% and all the travel time is on your time. Be prepared to work 60+ hours to manage to bill (and get credit for 40 hours)."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"Terrible management. 100% travel, no work life balance allowed. Penalized for performance when control is not given or even allowed. No training. Lip service to ethics and business conducts, but continually asked to ignore or violate them for numbers at clients expense."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Consider practicing what you preach. Quit off shoring American jobs while trying to get stimulus money."

"IBM - good place to build initial experience, but not as a long term career."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"Massive resources, access to a wealth of technical information, access and experience with largest level clients and executives."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are a driven individual, believe in driving your own growth in a vacuum and need experience to raise your credibility, it should work for you. Do not expect much in return from the company. Also, if they say 75% travel, this is a MINIMUM!"

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"No training available, attitude is IT staff are replaceable commodities. Weak career growth. Limited adherence to published ethics - get it done, regardless of how."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Clients have multiple needs, cost is not the sole factor, experienced, high quality staff is also needed. Value them and consider the advantages of appropriate training."
