Some contracts are worse than others. This one was not great. The main problem with this position at GDIT was the boss, nightmare to work for if you didn't work hours off the clock and if you generally followed the law. He is your pal till you cross him. Since GDIT wised up and forced him to retire I've heard it has been pretty good down there. I have since changed jobs though.
General Dynamics had bought out the company Vangent, in order to acquire the contract to provide customer service for www.HealthCare.gov. My job while at GDIT was customer service representative for healthcare.gov, and was primarily responsible for assisting customers fill out applications for health insurance. It was an easy enough job; but, as you my have heard, healthcare.gov and the application are still in need of massive improvements - which could make completing the application difficult.
Company could have done a much better implementation of closing our facility down and subsequent layoff of almost all of the engineering expertise of a significant portion of future business. The company should have reduced ranks at Headquarters as it was evident that engineers and management have no clue about product design and development in the international marketplace.
