"I've worked for FedEx for 20+ years. It's been good to me, and I've been called one of their "thoroughbreds". I feel like I've gone about as far as I would like in it."

"Horrible place to work. $.50 - .$75 yearly raises, reduced health care benefits, management doesn't care or listen to any suggestions from employees or customers. There was only one good manager I ever worked for there. The rest of them were lying snakes. On the bright side, if you're a slacker, this is the perfect job for you because you literally wont be fired for anything. Management will never fire people because they can't afford to lose people. And why? Because the pay and benefits suck so bad and no one good is applying. All the good workers leave or apply to jobs that ACTUALLY pay a competitive pay rate."

"It has been a long journey, however the work was always there. I work with a very large group of people, and my company has one of the most renowned logos in the corporate industry. It has been hard work going to school and working in December, but gratefully the company worked with me and also gave me tuition reimbursement. I could not have done it without them."

"I've worked for FedEx for about 5 months. The company is very fast-paced and really physical. The benefits weren't what I expected. Management was lacking in certain areas that would affect the employees"

"Everything is seniority based and if you plan on going full time good luck. It takes anywhere from 5-10+ years to obtain a full time position. You can still get hours as a part time employee but nothing is guaranteed."

"I've worked for FedEx Express for over 20 years, and I'm tired of it."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"It's secure. That's about the only thing I like about the company."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"The pass the buck attitude of management, the dead end feeling of the job, the way they lull you into settling for it, the cover your own ass way of everything, you can't enjoy Christmas EVER, you can't plan anything in or for your personal life EVER, etc."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I don't know how to fix the company, but there should be more of a reward system in place, and employee vacations need fixing."

"33 + years."

What do you like about working at FedEx?

"A paycheck and benefits, period. Courier equals bottom of the food chain @ FedEx, a complete turn around from days gone by."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Run, don't walk away. Ok, if you NEED a job, fine, but if you want a career, look elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at FedEx?

"What don't you like... I hate to say it, but I must wholeheartedly agree with this assessment. I have been a courier with FedEx Express for over 33 years, and it WAS a great job and place to work... not so much anymore. I use to be able to go above and beyond for my (our) customers and build important relationships with my (our) customers, but those days are over. Customer has a question. Sorry, I have numbers to make, if I take any time addressing the customer needs, even taking as little as perhaps three minutes, my numbers reflect that wasted time in my Gap Report. I then must explain to mgmt. what I was doing during that three minutes... and no, I'm not exaggerating, I have to now explain why I'm providing customer service. The new Motto at FedEx Customer Service will NOT be tolerated! I've spent decades being the Face of FedEx and being one who willingly sacrificed in many ways to proudly represent the FedEx brand. I earned the trust of my bosses, my peers and my customers, and it obviously all worked beautifully as FedEx went from (who) to becoming one of the most admired and respected companies on the planet. Myself and my long term peers, managers and executives accomplished amazing things... but all that is forgotten now. I now must be watched like a hawk and am no longer trusted. I feel like a known criminal who is bent on stealing from the corporation. My contributions mean nothing and have been forgotten. I'm no more respected or honored than someone who started at FedEx yesterday. In spite of the company belief, lowly couriers are NOT stupid, we understand the new global economy, we understand the need for belt tightening, we understand the need for change, we understand it's in our best interest that the company remain viable and strong, but I believe those goals can and should be accomplished with a sense of appreciation and gratitude for all the people who where there from the beginning and played an intricate part in growing FedEx into the great company it became... but we are not. We have been not only forgotten, but are now treated as untrustworthy liabilities. Don't like it, go work somewhere else... is the reply. I plan on doing that very thing as I watch FedEx become a mere shadow of the Great Company it once was. I hope the CEO reads this. I am grateful for what you provided us for many years, It was a great adventure, but now my blood is no longer purple, you have abandoned your long time employees, and it hurts. The transfusion to the New FedEx has replaced my blood with ordinary red blood, and for me, that is very sad indeed. The once proud FedEx Family no longer exists, today the term is merely a platitude. Disgruntled employee hardly. Impeccable employment record at FedEx, never a trouble maker, and grateful to a fault. Your loss."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Anymore, nothing, as required. We used to be a team. Input was welcomed and often asked for, but now no one wants to hear your voice, shut up and do as you're told."
